Binangkal Recipe



Binangkal is a button down snack from the islands of Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines.

Guts you need:
  • 2 1/2 cups all- purpose flour,
  • 2 tsp baking powder,
  • 200 ml evaporated milk,
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional),
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter,
  • 1 cup sugar,
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds,
  • vegetable oil (for frying).

Cooking  Agendum:

  1. Put together the dry ingredients (all- purpose flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl, admix them.
  2. Bunch up all the wet ingredients (milk, oil, and vanilla extract) in a separate bowl. Admix them well.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients to the bowl and wet ingredients  then mix remarkably.
  4. Fashionably spade a tablepoon of the dough to form a small balls.
  5. Splash the sesame seeds into a plate and roll the balls into the plate of sesame seeds until fully covered.
  6. Sop the oil into a frying pan to heat and fry both sides of the balls until brown using medium heat.
  7. Transfer into a plate lined with paper towels to absorb oil. Cave in to cool and enjoy!
