Cassava nilupak

A Filipino overtone delicacy made from boiled cassava, butter, sugar or sweetened condense milk. These days there are more convenient ways to make nilupak, other use grated cassava that is easily bought in  supermarkets, or  you can use a grinder to grind the cooked cassava for a finer and smoother texture.
You will need:
  • cassava,
  • sweetened condensed milk,
  • margarine or butter, and
  • grated coconut (optional)

The run-of-the-mill preparation:
  1. Cut the cassava,  peel and  boil until cooked.
  2. Crush into a fine texture using a potato masher or  grinder to grind.
  3. Add the condensed milk or sugar, softened margarine, and lean on to your  taste of sweetness.
  4. Mold nilupak, hang on to your taste and you can top it with margarine, grated coconut  or cheese.
